WHO WE ARE
INTRODUCING…
So, what’s in a name?
Grace
God’s undeserved love and kindness towards us. We are more flawed than we realise, yet more loved than we ever dared hope.
Community
We want to love and care for the people around us, and serve our town in practical ways.
Church
A community of people who follow Jesus, learning to love God and one another.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is simple:
To know Jesus and make Jesus known.
We believe this journey isn’t meant to be walked alone. Whether you’re just exploring, new to faith, or have been following Jesus for years, there’s a place for you here.
Through worship, teaching and community, we want to help people grow in their relationship with Jesus and live out His love in everyday life.
KINGDOM VALUES
We have three core values at Grace, that shape how we live out our mission.
Committed
We want to be fully devoted to God – growing in faith, prayer, and love for others.
Compassionate
Because people matter to God, we seek to care for others and show kindness in practical ways.
Courageous
We trust God and step out in faith, believing He can do more than we imagine
WHERE DID IT ALL BEGIN?
Grace Community Church began in 1972 with a small group of people who wanted to build a church that was relevant, Bible-based, and rooted in the local community.
Over the past 50 years, the church has grown to more than 500 people. Along the way, we’ve moved locations, helped plant other churches, and since 2008 have met at the Addison Centre, our current home.
We are part of the evangelical Christian tradition and are affiliated with the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC), a network of around 600 churches across the UK.
WHERE ARE WE HEADING?
Because people matter to God, we want to make a positive difference in our community and continue to grow as a church.
We also want to help people grow in their relationship with Jesus and see faith shape everyday life.
We often talk about three simple areas of growth:
Maturity
Growing in our love for God and becoming more like Jesus
Mission
Reaching out and sharing God’s love with others
Ministry
Using our time and gifts to serve both in the church and in the wider community
So, you’re called Grace – but what does that actually mean?
Undeserved.
Extravagant.
Amazing.
Before we ever gave God a thought, He loved us and sent His Son to rescue us.
Jesus lived the life we should have lived and died the death we deserved. Because of His death and resurrection, we can know forgiveness, experience God’s presence today, and have real hope for the future.
